4th Kannawidan

Kannawidan is a celebration in which Ilocos Sur and Ilocos Norte were separated as a separate province. And we are celebrating this on January 31 until the 6th day of February. A lot of events were done such as Trade Fair in which the cities of Ilocos Sur displayed their different products and handicrafts.

The celebration started with a mass at 5:30 in the afternoon and followed by a procession with 41 patrons, this number of patrons corresponds to the number of cities in Ilocos Sur. Many people came especially those who came from the different cities of Ilocos Sur. After the procession there was a free dinner at the Plaza Salcedo compliment by the Provincial Government of Ilocos Sur. Every night there was a show and some artists were their guests.

This Kannawidan is really an enjoyable celebration.

January 25 is the City Fiesta of Vigan City in honor of the Conversion of St. Paul- the patron saint of the City. In connection of this, many events were done also a parade. The celebration started with a con-celebrated mass headed by the Archbishop of Nueva Segovia.

Not only people from Vigan who watched the parade but also a lot of people from different places came to witness the different celebrations. Many children came and they were very happy because a lot of candies were thrown to them. And at the evening of January 25 there was a procession.

New Year, Better Me

It's now 2011, new year, a new beginning. Last year I've done a lot of things, bad and a good. It's another year again, I hope that this year I will be better than the past years.

For me to improve and become better I make my plans for this 2011 and a lot of new years resolution. To focus on my studies, study hard, come to school early and to be a good daughter to my parents. And of course I will use my time wisely. I believe that God let me face this another year, it's because for me to improve the things I've done and he has a better plan for me.

I hope this year will be a memorable and meaningful year for me.And hope to have an enjoyable experiences this 2011.

Reflection

Time flies so fast...It's another grading period again.

In the third grading period I've learned and discovered a lot of things. Such as making web design by using Microsoft Front page 2003. Everyday we were enjoying making our project, the web design and it's all about the tourist spots and beautiful spots here in Vigan City. And by this project I discovered that Vigan is a place that we must be proud.

This fourth grading period I hope that I will learn a lot of things. And I will enjoy my last grading period here in Ilocos Sur National High School.

Essence of Christmas

As Ber months come we can see many Christmas decorations such as Christmas lights, lanterns and others. We can hear different Christmas songs and musics, many children are going home to home to carol. But what is the true essence of Christmas?

We Christians believe that Christmas is the birth of our Savior Jesus Christ. And we are celebrating this in the 25th day of December. We are celebrating this special season by our own simple way. Like preparing different kinds of foods, going home to home to carol and others. But the true essence of Christmas is giving, sharing, forgiving and loving. We should share and give of what we have. We must know how to forgive. And especially we should love one another because we are all people of God. Christmas is also a time for a family bonding and to stay together and see each other.

Giving, sharing, forgiving and loving, is the true essence of Christmas.

My Semestral Break

What a nice and enjoyable semestral break I had last October 25 to November 2.

On the first day of our semestral break I spent my time in watching television and playing in the computer. The following day we went to Paoay Ilocos Norte together with my brother , we stayed there for two days. Last Saturday we went to the public market to buy candles for the incoming All Saint's Day and All Soul's Day. November 1 came, and it was All Saint's Day, we went to cemetery to visit the tombs of our departed relatives. The next morning classes resumed, even though it is All Soul's Day. So in the afternoon we went to cemetery.

I hope that there will be a semestral break again next school year.
